Hey Eli James_S here. What are your thoughts on programmers turning into instructors without any formal teaching? I have been using several online sites to learn programming languages. Some of these sites are from people that have not had any formal schooling in computer science or are self taught. Most of these sites answers can be googled, found on YouTube or are left to peer groups to assist with answering questions. I was wondering does these sites gave a false since of learning to those that use them, especially when all are doing the same projects. The programmers that create these sites have less than five years in the field and hold the hand of the users in order for them to get pass programming task. Do you see this as a problem, especially with more people abandoning the school system for quicker ways into the job market? Should those seeking to learn programming learn from sites that teach like formal institutions, example lynda.com, linuxacademy.com, edx.org, coursera, etc.
