Adam Smith College, June 2010

The National Certificate Early Education and Childcare course covers topics such as child development, children’s rights, curriculum and workplace practice which provide the underpinning knowledge and skills to prepare students to work with children. A variety of teaching and learning approaches are used with invaluable time spent on work placement in early years settings. This experience allows students to see how what has been covered in college links with the contribution they can make to supporting children in what they do. Students reflect on the enterprise skills they feel they have gained to prepare them to move on to HNC level which opens up a range of future progression routes.
