Professor Roger Slee is the Director of the Victoria Institute for Education, Diversity and Lifelong Learning.

The Institute researches ways to better engage learning outcomes for students from diverse and under-represented backgrounds.

Prior to joining Victoria University he was Chair of Inclusive Education at the Institute of Education, University of London. During this time he published his most recent book The Irregular School: Exclusion, Schooling and Inclusive Education.

Making Rights Real – IHC symposium which was held to promote the human rights of people with intellectual disability. It will be held at Te Papa, Wellington, on 28 September. The IHC was founded in 1949 by parents seeking the rights for their children to education, support, health, recreation and participation in the community. Decades later these same goals remain. Speakers and discussions will look at the international and local contexts for progressing human rights.
